Haute cuisine, music and solidarity at Parma Gastronomic September

Alta cucina, musica e solidarietà al Settembre Gastronomico di Parma
September in Parma, capital city of Italian Food Valley and 2020 and 2021 Italian Capital of Culture, will be rich in cultural and gastronomic events.

There is no doubt about it: the culture of a country also lies in food. The city of Parma, which has been selected as Italian Capital of Culture, could not have celebrated it better: the third edition of Gastronomic September, encompassing a number of events telling the story of the city and its territory through its culinary tradition excellences, including both products and entire food chains.

They not only include His Majesty Parmigiano Reggiano or Parma ham, the two grand PDOs that are well-known and appreciated all over the world, but also tomatoes, anchovies, milk and, of course, pasta.

And, speaking of pasta, BluRhapsody brand (born in Parma) could not be left out, with its grand collection of special 3D-printed shapes, giving a glimpse into the future and beautifully embodying the encounter of innovation and tradition.

Gastronomic September agenda includes several events, most of which will aim at raising funds for solidarity initiatives in the area (part of the proceeds will be donated to Emporio Solidale di Parma, which offers free shopping to over a thousand of underprivileged families).

The opening night, a dinner under the stars in the magnificent French garden of Reggia di Colorno, was sold out. It was undoubtedly made more special by an exceptional Guest Chef who headed the team of Parma Quality Restaurant chefs: Chicco Cerea from Bergamo, 3 Michelin-star chef with his restaurant Da Vittorio.

Salix by BluRhapsody, 3D pasta shape replicating a woven basket, was selected to be served as an appetizer, ideally opening the event, stuffed with ricotta cheese scented with citrus fruits and crispy anchovies on melon and carrot gazpacho.

Gastronomic September is not only food, however, but also a lot of music: in collaboration with Teatro Regio of Parma, restaurants turn into special stages during the event, in memory of storytellers tradition.
